What new year?
I sat down in front of my MacBook and pondered on my 2013 resolutions. Do they really truly exists and if they do, will they ever be seen throughout the year? My answer – No. Cynical I may seem but it’s true. How many of us truly made our 2013 wishes came true? Perhaps less than 5% of us who are born with pure grit and determination.
My new year resolution for the year 2013 was to lose some Christmas weight (in-laws to be fed us too much Turkey and Pudding AND sweets) and to advance in career. Have I achieved both? Not quite. Meh.
So I got over with writing down an entire list of resolution. Next, the entire camaraderie of “Starting a new year afresh”. What load of bull-pardon my language. I have not seen an entire being feeling absolutely, truly, amazingly refreshed! Not on the bus, not at work, not at home, not ANYWHERE! I am beginning to think this is just another marketing gimmick (One that I should be acquainted with). I do not feel refresh, new and other adjectives. In fact, I am exhausted from Christmas and New Year in UK with the in-laws, partner and family. It is an exhausting affair, in a good way.
Are you on to really believe in making resolutions? Or are you like me – a cynical one.
